We are very frustrated installing our SIP panels. Among other issues we can't seem to get the long screws to seat all the way in. I have tried different drivers and still strip the screw, torque the heads off or they just won't go any further. Any experience or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

HoM,
take a bar of bath soap and scrape liberally on the screw threads, this will hep to lubricate the threads into the wood and should go in easier

I would also think a shorter screw would work. If your getting to the point of shearing off the heads, you have gone deep enough.

These type of screws should be pancake head screws and they should be tightened to the surface of the board, not seated in or countersunk.A quality screw like from Truefast should not give you those issues if you are driving them with a screw gun with proper torque. javascript:amaf_insertHTML('');amaf_toggleInline(6013,24560,0);
