I'm fairly new to sip structure building. I have used SIPS in the past for floors and roofs in modular sunrooms at work. I'm currently looking at building a fairly large 1000 sq ft addition to my home in Ontario Canada. Its a pretty simple build and I will be finishing the exterior with vinyl siding to match the rest of the house. All of the webpages I have visited it lists simple Tyvek type house wrap over top of the OSB and then nailing the vinyl siding directly to the panel. It seems this would be the absolute bare minimum and frankly it makes me a bit nervous. We all know vinyl siding is basically designed to leak and drain. Is there not a better system that is proven that works better than simple Tyvek ? Due to the nature of the panels and the fact the exterior OSB provides structure I want to take all possible precautions. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
