I am using Internet Explorer 7 on Vista. There is no message editor at all -- no buttons, nothing. In Preferences there is a picture of the WYSIWYG message editor box with 2 tabs that say Design and HTML. Does not matter which one you select, there is nothing but a plain text entry box when making a post. You cannot even do paragraph breaks -- it all runs together. Also, there is no Preview button -- just Submit and Cancel. Please, what's up -- is this board not yet compatible with Internet Explorer 7!?

DB,
Try using a 'quote' so that the existing message text is displayed. Now if you select HTML you should see the message with the embedded HTML visible. When you select DESIGN you should see the formated message(no embedded HTML). You can toggle back and forth. So, in essence, DESIGN is the WYSIWYG.

Now if you don't know HTML, the HTML view really won't help you much! So, for line spacing just use the Return key. Your problem may have nothing to do with IE7.

Thanks -- I know HTML inside out -- but this board has a WYSYWIG editor that shows, and works, when I log in at home with Win XP. On my laptop with IE7 it does not show. Your quote, of my post, shows that all the sentences are lumped together in 1 paragraph, yet I typed them in 3 paragraphs. I can hit the 'edit' for my original post and I see THREE paragraphs in the edit box, so what's up? Why does it display as one?!

I can enter HTML -- it's how I got this line to break into a new paragraph. But there is no WYSIWG editor bar above the text entry box, like on XP with IE6. There appears to be something fundamentally wrong with this board and how it works with IE7 and I wish a board owner would respond.

I tried upgrading to IE7, but it puked & died everytime I tried to run an applet. As you probably know, M$ creates horrible software. I'll stay with IE6.

I'll add some thing else: Why can't you edit posts after they are posted?

RE: I'll add some thing else: Why can't you edit posts after...

Not sure what you mean. I [can edit posts after they are posted.

My reference above was to the formatting of my first post in this thread. As you can see, it runs all together -- no paragraph breaks, even though it had 3 paragraph breaks in it when I typed it.

When I 'edit' that post, the text edit box shows that post with the 3 original paragraphs in it. It does not show it as one, run-together group of sentences as it displays to thw world here.

So, the question is why? Why is the WYSIWYG edit menu not visible or working with IE7.

Why do line breaks (carriage-return breaks) work to allow paragraph creation when composing a message, or when editing' a message, but when posted the whole thing runs together as one big paragraph.

The board is not working with IE7.

We are looking into the IE7 issue, and will get back on this shortly.

Sorry for any inconvenience,

Jamie

Ok, now I see an 'Edit' button. Hmmmm. I don't recall it being there before. Hmmmm.

Thanks, Jamie!

(as I post from IE6 with full WYSIWYG now available)
