Turns out I used < p > instead of < p / > which causes the POST to lock up

Yeah, the full-blown rich text editor is broke all to hell.

It's mostly impossible to even EDIT posts now too.

The entire site takes 5-10 seconds to load a page and the search never completes either.

This version of the forums is now nearly 8 years old.

The version here is 4.1.
The CURRENT version is 06.03.03 (essentially 6.3 Patch Level 3, May 2018).
The oldest version sitting on their GitHub repository is 5.1.4.
So this site is essentially running unsupported abandonware.
Worse, because of the EXTREME lapse in version updates, it may or may not be POSSIBLE to actually update without completely tossing the content of the old server.

Not going to dig in and dox the site. But if it's hosted someplace, these failures are likely because the underlying services and software they depend on have been updated and are not longer properly compatible with this old a version of the software.

Also, unfortunately, the AF forums are a dead zone. Averaging about 1 post per year, mostly unreplied to.

I'm not sure why this is happening. I know I haven't met as many people on here as I used to.

I used to always find people for help or to buy or sell stuff but lately its harder and harder. Than when you do find someone to trade with you have to be sure their not looking to scam you.

I've used this site in the past to do background checks and it's helped to know the person I'm dealing with isn't a criminal https://backgroundcheckrepair.org/.

But when it comes to adding new topics on this forum I find it better to just continue an old topic as im not sure they keep up with this like they used to.

This site has not worked well for at least the last 10 years. People found workarounds to sort of get by back then. But then the site was badly overwhelmed by scammers and trolls for a fairly long period a couple years ago and many people finally gave up and departed. I find it now takes multiple attempts just to login to this site. I keep getting a "CSRF Verification Failed" error screen. And I continue to get this same error screen even after I eventually login successfully when trying to post, edit a post or logout. Very annoying...

I am new here and am trying to get answers for a ton of questions I'm constantly having with zero reply. At this point I am more than aware that the website is a graveyard.
