does anyone out there have any suggestions on where to go to get a ICF footing idea made? I have designed a footer that essentially laid into place and most all kinds of ICF straight and or corners can be locked in and stacked upon. So there will be only one pour from footing to the top. What I am looking for is any suggestions on where a person can go to get a prototype made confidentially? I need to finish my testing.

If you are looking to do this out of moulded EPS, to have a mould made is quite expensive and you would need good drawings. Without know what you are doing it is hard to say.

How are you going to get building code acceptance? Frankly several layers of PWF grade plywood over gravel or lightweight aggregate, in trenches, would make a great footing system under ICF. But getting it accepted by building inspectors would not be easy. IMO footings should be gravel in trenches as used under PWF or Superior Walls. The purpose of a footing is to reduce the pressure on the soil to a level the soil can support. Heavy, brittle concrete is a poor choice of material for a footing. Ordinary gravel or crushed stone is much better and light weight aggregates are even better.

This post is over 2 years old... You only dig a trench for footing if you need to go more than 1 foot below soil level for frost line. Otherwise you build a rock pad and put footing on top of it. Way better to put a footing on top of rock pad and back fill than digging a trench. Gets the house above grade and footing can’t fail from uneven settling cause you never know what’s just below the trench. Best to go wider than minimum and spend few more $$$ on concrete if you want a forever footing.
