Finishing basement, thinking of converting FHA to radiant for first floor and basement also?

so your heat load calc was too high? what does "better than planned" mean?

I should say better than expected. I guess the heat load estimate may have been a bit high, but I am also running 140 degree water. Next fall I'll add that outdoor reset mixing valve and see how low I can run the water at. Don't forget, this is just the first floor of a 2 story cape, so there is heated space above.

I guess I rolled the dice a bit by trying this, but we've had a couple of fairly cold nights below 10 degrees with wind, and it works wonderfully. The trick will be next year to see how low I can run the water temp at.
