Wonder what he ever did (if anything). You can also get some cheap solar operated floating fountains that work well in this application.
Seems this would be an awful good application for a water - to - water heat pump. Take the heat from the pool and put in your water heater to use when they shower to rise off all the chemicals.

Another great idea is to simply screen in the pool. This will drop temps by 4-10 degrees.

I concur with the screening comment. I've heard the same thing here in north FL - screening is almost a requirement owing to insects, but it results in uncomfortably cool pools during some times of year when house needs AC, so the obvious question is how to divert a bit of heat off the AC into the pool. My builder partner and I have discussed this but never done anything with it.

I used a Pool Mister called "Pool cooler" from http://www.mistcooling.com/poolcooler.htm a houston base manufacturer to cool my pool water.
The best and economical way to cool  swimming Pool water during red hot summer days
I just purchased in $34 and working great with a reduction of pool temperature 8 to 10 degree

Are you sure that is a Houston based manufacturer?

Given the broken English and poor grammar, I would suspect a Chinese manufacturer.  Or did the Houston company sub-contract out the website design to someone in China?

" provides a lot fun,"

"Pool Coolers are the perfect and the best economical way to make comfortably cool of warm swimming pools water ."
