Well as installers I know you all always read the instructions on a product before it is installed. (I know, I know who needs instructions I've done hundreds what don't I know!)LOL..

Know that we've all had a laugh, what we state is that if you internal manifold your system so that each loop can be isolated and purged individually you don't need flushcart. We do tell you that if you bury your manifold outside that you need to use a flushcart on the sytem to get the velocity where it needs to be to do air and debris removal.

As for continually purging air the flowcenter does do this function continuosly. (What is the main component of H 2 O?) So you constantly have dissolved air wanting to come out of the mixture, especially in temperature swings. The flow center is to help prevent call backs from the thermal expansion and contraction have an effect on your system pressure since we aren't under pressure.

Hope this clarifies any ?'s.

We started using non-pressurized flowcenters on pretty much every install about 2 years ago, and I cannot imagine to ever go back!

We usually do not header inside for systems of 6 tons or less, I do not see the advantage to bring all the lines in the house (we have a 2HP flushcart). I think this is more an application they try to market to DYIs or the occasional geo installer without a flushcart.

We occasionally had issues with air bubbles forming in pressurized systems with time(never found the reason, may the temp swings), even after long purging. Not anymore. Never had to adjust pressure. They provide easy access to the loop if needed. Not found anything negative about them yet. Cost is a wash, compared to pump pack flowcenter...Even larger installs with multiple heatpumps we do now with larger non-pressurized flowcenters and variable speed pumps. Again, pretty sweet. No, I don't work for them. No, they did not tell me to say all this!

I have a QT and love it. I purged with a garden hose hookup to my loops. Then used the qt to add the required methanol to the loop while dumping the return water. Of course the mix was not uniform until the system ran for a few days. But that was not a problem. Might have been if it was the middle of winter. I've got flow meters and valves on each of my loops so I can see what is happening, which is nice.
