Thanks for the ideas about the electrical. Yes we live way out in the country and we do have lights flicker sometimes when unit comes on. I will call the power company and electrician to see if they can monitor the power especially when the heat comes on.

YIKES! There was an error in my previous message about the compressor solenoid. It does not run on AC. A solenoid can make a loud buzzing noise if AC is placed against the coil. This solenoid is only active during the compressor start up. Please forgive my ADD ...

OK now we're on to something... If there is low voltage, and the power company says there is nothing they can do (expect that), the installer can replace the run capacitor with a larger one. Have him check the Copland technical documentation to figure out the correct size.
