How would the EPS take the stepping weight of a human body? Also, how would one attach a threshold to foam?

The detail is for a prehung door. The door is supported by the nail flanges. As the door threshold is over the eps, it can easily support the weight.Just like under a floor slab.

YES, please post a pic of the finished doorway.

Yes, I'd like to see a pic.
Here they are! Looks like I need to clean off some spider webs!

The front door.

Close up of the front door.

Master bath exterior door.

By using the 2 x 6 inset frame finishing the door was no problem. As you can see I trimmed the outer opening the same as the windows and retained the brick molding that came with the prehung door.

Here's close up of the finished garage man door that is pictured in the group earlier in this thread. The forum s/w doesn't like to have more than 3 pics in one post! As you can see in both close ups the Hardiplank ends just above the concrete. In the earlier closeup of the garage door you can see the little bits of Trex I nailed to bottom end of bucks so that there would be no untreated wood next to the concrete. If I remember correctly the door frames come with a rot resistant piece at the bottom now days.

Very nice! Mine will come out a little different, since I don't have nearly as large an opening to work with. All of my doors have a step down- 6" front and back, and a small set of steps in the garage. In the front, I could remove the foam down to the porch level, or a bit below, and cast a sill in place. I could do the same in the back, but it steps down to a wooden deck.
