What would be the motivation for the driver to add water to the mix, if not requested by the concrete crew?  I have seen drivers add water at jobsite because a crew member told him to do so.  I have not heard about a driver showing this initative on his own.

To name the ones on the short list: -The drive took longer than expected, traffic, etc. In their infinite wisdom, they think that it is helping. -The mixer truck showed up before the pump truck, had that happen many times, although it is more blamed on poor planning on the builders part. The driver adds water to keep from having a truck full of hardened mud. -Trying to adjust the mix by eye, thinking that he brought too tight of a mix, and is trying to fix it. -Because they aren't that bright....

So what about some of these ICF guys who dump water into the mix at the job site to increase the flow? I've talked to one such guy and he said that if it isn't flowing right, he just dumps water into the mix at the job site.

I hope they carry E&O insurance
