The high velocity HVAC systems work well and were originally conceived for retrofitting old buildings where it was not possible to install large duct work. However they are very expensive.

Just a note on steel SIPs... We have used a half a dozen different steel SIP systems and it is uncommon to see one with a steel spline.

I have only briefly researched high velocity systems and my comment was intented to be a suggestion. Our company tossed around the idea of integrating duct work into our panels and high velocity systems could be used for specific applications. Respectfully, I do not know this persons specific situatution, but building a 4000sq ft ranch may have more to do with comfort than cost or environmental impact. As far as steel splined sips, I've seen steel framed structures (both commercial and residential) using sips as curtain walls. If the sip systems you have worked with have a proper thermal break, I don't have an issue with that. Eco-panels website is currently under construction. The founder of the company wanted to semi-retire and has brought in a team of new partners with diverse manufacturing and building science expertise. Our goal is to develop a website that both educates and provides resources for everyone involved with or interested in high performance residential and commercial construction. I am currently working on the section devoted to energy efficient mortgages. We are also finalizing the engineering/manufacturing of integrated solar technology roof sips.

Yes, our panels are being manufactured and erected as we speak. A sister facility in Colorado that has rights to use our patents is called ICS of the Rocky Mountains. We changed the name of the founding company to eco-panels and have a new team devoted to pushing the thermal envelope. We are working on the engineering of foundation panels, the solar integrated panels I mentioned above and our band joist/rim board panels are already in production. How is your business doing? I am a fan of sips and we are working hard to get the word out to everyone.
