need help with thermosat

I had a two stage 4 ton 3000 ft ground loop Water Furnace brand geothermal install t has a water furnace thermostat.  What i need to know is ,how do you tell if it is using he electric back up?  It display stage 1, stage 1&2  but nothing about being in electric back up.

Don't know about the thermostat, but generally your blower will ramp up to it's highest speed in aux. and your electric meter will look a little like Chevy Chase's when he plugs in the Christmas lights.

In another thread (Thermostats) a Water Furnace thermostat owner posted on 12/27/08 that +2 shows on that (model listed there) tstat indicating aux heat.

My waterfurnace tstat will show:
Stage 1 = "Stage 1"
Stage 2 = "Stage 1 + 2"
Aux Heat = "Stage 1 + 2" with the "+2" flashing on and off.
