I'm in the process of building a new home and most window and door mfgrs. void the warranty if you use the expanding foam (low expanding-the kind made specifically for windows and doors). Whats a good way to seal around them?

Thanks!!!!

I have used expanding foam to seal windows and doors for several years now with no problems. Frankly, if a window cannot stand up to a good foaming, how's it going to stand up to strong winds. Seriously, I have found nothing that will do as good a job as the foam. The secret: Invest in an adjustable foam gun with replacement cans of MINIMUMALLY expanding foam. Not the stuff you buy at the big box stores or wallyworld.

I agree, even the so called low expansion foam [blue can]you buy at trhe big box stores expands too much.

I've been using windloc foam with a adjustable gun and it works great.
