I am fixing to be to the point where I need to install the doors in my house.  I have the std 2 x 12 PT wood bucks.  How do I set the doors into the bucks.  Are they set from the outside or inside.  If they are set from the inside, do you have to have special doors that mount like this?

Thanks

Raceman,

I like to order exterior doors ( therma-thru) with pre installed extention jams because it is easy to install (expansive) if you are not buying door with extentio jams you need to set your door jam flash with drywall and finish off from out side. If you set your door from out side your door will open only @ 90* and 36'' door you will not have 36'' openning. hope this helps you.

It's been a long time that this has been an issue. To date I have never been able to find a sill that extends the full distance to the exterior when setting to the inside. Frank, what have you done for this, I am curious as I have always set the door to the exterior side. I did do one where we left the pour down 4" at the sill and installed a precast sill, but I am looking for other ideas. What have others done? You would think that someone would manufacture a 12" and 14" for such a reason, I for one would buy it.

Chris,
Even special order doors with 11- 1/2" jamb does not have full jamb. I have the same problem.
1- we pour concrete couple inch lower ( at door openning)
2- We cut outer foam and set lime stone sill for openning.( top of the stone sill flash with floor)
3- when door is installed, sill goes over stone and foam to floor
