No experience with it, but it sounds interesting. I filled out their form for free samples. Sounds like mineralized wood chips, like Durisol and Faswall.

What is your application? Did you check into Magnum Board, MgO board?

I have used it. We built a house last year with Durisol building envelope for the exterior and ispan floor system. The floor joists were covered with amoroc panels instead of plywood or osb. Very durable and easy way to eliminate wood from the structure (they had termite concerns).

It looks to me like this is 154 lbs a sheet (4'x8'x3/4"). Weren't these very difficult to handle? What was the approximate cost per sheet? I would like to see a good/cost effective plywood sub-floor or drywall interior alternative. So far I have not seen one.

Torben; I agree, I continue to search for alternatives, 3/4" MGO is about 130 lbs. and still too heavy and too brittle. I see stress cracks already in the one subfloor we installed, leeching on steel joists is still a concern.

We are glad to share a list of references for any of you who have questions about our product Armoroc. We have many satisfied customers. The product is heavier than plywood, but it is much lighter than poured concrete on the structure. It is also only 3/4" thick. That can add up to a huge cost savings throughout an entire project by cutting down on collateral building materials. Also Armoroc is the most cost effective of any UL Classified structural cement board. We have 7 UL Floor Assemblies and 2 UL Roof Assemblies. Feel free to visit our website www.armoroc.com and contact me direct for a list of references. 508-429-1470. Ask for Mike.

Armoroc is also the most popular roof sheathing material for fire, moulds, termites and seismic resistance. Armoroc has similar nail pull force like plywood or OSB. You can fasten the nails or screws into Armoroc using conventional tools.
