I thought the topic of how we do cost cutting for SIPs was a good topic until I read all the feed back and I have to agree, we are beating up a dead horse !

SIPs are happening now. It's not a framing system of the future, it is the framing system of the day. Our company receives a minimum of 3 to 5 calls per day from people who want to build with SIPs. 80% of the phone calls are from people who have already done the homework and have a reason for calling us. They aren't asking how it compares with stick frame, they're asking if we can quote their project that is designed with SIPs and hope we are not too busy to get a package out to them.

For those who ask for a stick frame comparison we give them the dot com addresses where they can get the information to help them understand why they should be building with SIPs.

You are working with a unique product. You are on the ground floor with a building product that will overwhelm all of us. Quit trying to sell these building products to people who don't want something better for themselves and cannot see the investment, to builders who want nothing better for their clients other than the profit margin they can put in their pockets.

The teaching curve is over thanks to all the hard work of everyone that has embraced SIP construction over the past ten years and the pioneers who started it. Thanks to SIPA for giving customers a way to access all of us and being the champion of SIPs. Thanks to Jim Tracey's energy for as long as we had him. Thanks to SIP.Web for a great format so we have a community to talk with one another and for the consumer to find us. Thanks to Michael Morley for creating a SIP book in layman's terms and a HUGE THANKS to the Manufacturers who have invested large losses in bringing this product to the market place.

Build it, they will come.

Now go out and do the right thing.
