All, I have been reading on this forum as well on online, yet I still have questions. You have all been great on previous posts!
The story is this: I am building a fairly large house ~6,500 square feet in Florida (where we have hurricanes).
I have a couple of questions for you all, and I hope it won't take too long...Actually, I am requestiong some advice if you have any!
I have selected a potential houseplan online but I was wondering before I commit to the floorplan, if it will work with SIPS? The architect online says that so long as the walls are less than 12 inches, the plan allows for that.
But what about the roof? I mean, would it be best to just buy the plans and work with a builder or architect here to get them modified for the SIPs?
Also, I was wondeirng what type of SIPS would be best in my neck of the woods? Cement, metal, MsO, or OSB? PUR or EPS? What sort of thickness of the SIPS? I will be facing both buygs and potential hurricanes in this neck of the woods so that is important.
Also, what is the cost difference between them all?
I also read that some companies can take your plans and cut out the walls based on your floorplans. Do any of you have opinons on some of these companies? Or is it better to just get the panels that lcok together and get it all modified onsite?
Thanks so much for your help!
Regards,
MG
