I am looking for a good,hardy,long lasting, accurate transit for level, square and plumbing walls.  I have seen some from PLS that do all of these but the last transit I had from Pls didnt feel very strong and hardy,  I have used several differnet types all of which are similar but all the ones I have used I feel are cheap and not going to last long.  I was wondering if anyone had used or knows of one which is accurate multifunctional and very construction hardy.  I know this is not nessecarily ICF, but I am an icf installer so.... While I am at it I would also like some input on Bracing systems, I have heard good things about giraffe bracing so wanted to hear other feedback.

Most all of the bracing out there including the brand we designed and manufacture, are good bracing systems.
Some require another set of stiff backs to do differant wall heights some have extensions. Some are made of steel some are made of alum.

The key is what you would normally use the braces for, if all you do is 8' basements you can use a less expensive system if you do more commercial tall wall builds you would want a heavier system. Make sure the system that you look at has been tested to meet or exceed the OSHA standard, this would include instruction mannuals, and proper labeling.

More important is going to be the proper use of the bracing this is where most folks fail and have problems with the bracing and the build!!

One more thing to consider is a system that is not so heavy that your employees will get hurt trying to lift the braces, work comp is a killer these days and more often than not you the owner get blamed for those back injuries, when an employee lifts heavy bracing systems.

I use PLS equipment all the time.  It is tough and continues to maintain accuracy for the last two years.  Easy to set up.  For distances over 200' I use a rotary.
