See the following quote in the above article:   "PEX-a had fewer odors and organics release than the PEX-b pipe."

Lead Leaching And Faucet Corrosion In PVC Home Plumbing.   See   http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2008/06/080602091241.htm

Has anyone encountered these problems?

I just ran across this article:

http://health.usnews.com/articles/health/living-well-usn/2008/06/12/your-shower-curtain-might-be-bad-for-you.html

It discusses shower curtains, but has a link to another site with a whole list of potentially harmful household and building products. How about vinyl windows? Is that a PVC sort of vinyl?
