Finally made my decision on replacing 7 windows in our home. Did a lot of research on vinyl vs fiberglass frames, and different glazing options available.
After getting price quotes from 4 suppliers ( 2 quotes for vinyl, 2 for fiberglass), ended up going with Toronto based supplier Fibertec.
There is another Ottawa based supplier of fiberglass windows however my experience with their quote process was not good and I would not have been comfortable purchasing from them due to perceived lack of customer service.
Purchased fiberglass frame, triple glazed, krypton gas filled units and did self install (ok, with a lot of help from some experienced friends!). The low e coatings are oriented for the house. Four casements, one bow (with end casements), one horiz slider and one 6 X 6 fixed window.
Am very pleased with the quality and pricing of the windows and the service rec'd to date from Fibertec.

Warranty is lifetime on frame and its finish, lifetime on hardware, 15 years on sealed unit. The warranty is not prorated, and is transferrable

Forgot to mention, they are Energy Star rated. The ones I got are rated for all 4 zones. Think the R value was just over 5 |
