I am installing thermalboard in my kitchen. I plan to install granite tile over it. The installation instructions for the thermalboard require installing backerboard over the thermalboard for a tile installation. The backerboard requires thinset under it to provide a level surface for the backerboard. Do I apply the thinset directly to the aluminum of the thermalboard? Should I apply modified thinset to allow more flexibility? I am concerned that the expansion of the aluminum of the thermalboard will cause the thinset to crack and shift under the backerboard. Should I apply a anti fracture membrane directly over the thermaltrack? HELP!!!!thanks.
