WE ARE PLANNING TO INSTALL HYDRONI RADIANT HEAT OVER EXISTING WOOD SUBFLOOR. WE WILL INSTALL CERAMIC TILES AND ARE CONCERNED WITH CRACKING.
IS IT BETTER TO USE 1.5 CONCRTETE SLAB OR SLEEPERS FILLED WITH CONCRETE AND WONDERBOARD OVER. IS IT NECCESARY TO USE WIRE IN SLAB?

You will need to make sure your floor system is capable of carrying the extra dead load of the concrete. If it is capable, I have a mix from PCA for this application. You may need to go a bit thicker depending on your tubing thickness. If you would like the mix let me know I'll dig it up,....or just call PCA and they can answer any of you questions. Another option that may work better depending on your situation is easyfloor,......check it out at www.easyfloor.com.
goog luck,.........Larry

I am also considering Easy Floor, but I haven't heard from anyone that has used it. Seems very easy and would be more responsive to heat changes than in slab installation. Anyone out there used this?
