I'm getting ready to run my foundation slab PEX. I have three zones and two manifold locations.

#1. What are the pros and cons to using 1" PEX for supply and return lines vs. 1" copper?
#2. Is it better to run supply and return lines under the slab/insulation or above via ceiling and walls?

Thanks
