Hi Everyone--
Newbie here, need some advice.
I have designed a 4-loop, in slab, radiant heating system using 1/2" pex in a 4" slab for the house I am building. Each loop is between 275 and 295 feet. The house is on the eastern end of Long Island in New York. Ground temps are a steady 55 °F. Insulation will be Al Foil-Bubble-Tyvek between the sand and the concrete. I would like to use a water heater for my heat source.
I am trying to determine flow rates, etc. to determine the circulating pumps I will need.
Any ideas, comments or suggestions on the project?
Thank you in advance for your input.
Gettin' it done!

The concept is simple but the details can kill you. You don't even explain square footage or heating load of the building . All one floor? Take a look at Legalett -- they do all the design based on your floor plan & heating load & supply a package almost anyone can install. The web site --http://www.legalett.ca/Index.htm

I agree with Davee.
You need to do research first otherwise you will end up with a system that does not meet your needs. Square footage, fuel type, heat source are all variables.
Also look at wirsboo Blah Blah Blah forum.
Check out Radiantheating institute on the web as well as Healthy heating.
Drop RB a note: He's a good guy.
