I,ve added a bed room above a heated garage.I want to heat the room with 1/2 pex under the 3/4"sub floor. What is the best type of flooring to use on top of the sub flooring? I would like some type of hard wood or enginered flooring.Anything but carpet.
Thanks,Buck

Buck,

In order.....the best "heat to surface" is like this:

1. bare concrete/wood
2. Ceramic tile over concrete/wood
3. Wood floor over concrete/wood
4. Carpet over concrete/wood

The same order would apply when using a heated wood floor.

Have you checked into the RadTrax Heat Transfer Plates by ART?

I believe that this is an event that should be noted in the history books.
