I have built home before and have good plumbing and electrical skills, but I have never used PEX. I am planning a small home 2 BR 2 full bath home and am planning to use PEX for supply plumbing. And I am considering radiant floor heat. Could some of you more experienced people give me a heads up on brands, fittings, and system types Open vs closed and so on. Also can anyone suggest a supplier? I will be doing the work with my own maintenance people and doing much of it myself.

Its not Pex but a great system for slab on grade is Legalett developed in Sweden . I t circulates heated air through the slab so no puncture potential & loss of heat for even long power outages --no freeze potential. They do design & supply some materials . They have a new system which allows thinner slab making it even more cost effective.
I am in my third winter with the older system . You can easily install yourself but they want a "qualified" inspector before the pour. I represent Legalett now in my area -- something they are looking for in new markets -- Could this fit with your business?
