I have been reading your forum and there is a lot of good information out there and I hope you have some good advise for me.

I'm looking at finishing off my basement and want to put in a radiant heating system. I have a 4 inch slab, 6 feet below grade, with no insulation under it. I was thinking of installing DRIcore panels as my subfloor and then using a panel system overtop, such as that offered by Subray and Wirsbo. The question I have is will I be pouring all of my heating into the concrete or will this setup deliver the heat to where it needs to go. Do I need this two part flooring setup or is there a single step process I don't know about. I intend to use this space as a kids room and home theature and expect to get a lot of use out of it. Total sq footage is approx 1,400sq.

I welcome all opinions and sugestions.
Thanks in advanec for your help.......

IME67,

You should always insulate against the existing slab. If you do not insulate it, the slab will draw the energy away from where you want it to go.
