I am remodeling my first floor wich is a cement slab on grade. I would like to install radiant heat but the distance from floor to ceiling is only 7'6". The floor is very cold and it is obvious that it has to be insulated before installing any tubing over it.
I have looked at different kits that different manufacturers offer but i am not convinced they are appropriate ones for my house. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I haven't used them, but when height is at such a premium, Roth panels may be the answer; insulation and aluminum in one 3/4" thickness. I'm going to have to try those suckers out someday.

Otherwise, I would probably consider a very thick carpet and pad, and panel radiators.
