We live in San Francisco and are considering Warmboard for a room that's 15x25. Any idea on the range of cost to heat this room would be appreciated. Three walls are insulated, the fourth is glass. Ceiling is 8'.
Thank you!

Lots of issues not mentionned -- room on ground floor with earth under?, direction of glass -- sun heated room? -- doors to isolate from other rooms or will heat escape typically up stairwells?, extent of insulation? Radiant only reduces costs if you set a lower room temperature or insulate better when installing . It is more of a comfort thing than a $ saver

| Thanks for the response. The room is north facing ground floor with one small adjacent room of 9'x13'. Plywood subfloor on 2x4 floor joists over concrete slab. Well insulated (R-19)except one wall of virtually all glass facing north. No stairwells. Gas wall heat is also available. We mainly want a warmer floor. |

as I just posted in another thread; small area without an existing hydronic system, I would consider electric mats instead of a hydronic system. Much more economical.

Thanks NRT.Rob. Can you recommend an electric mat product or products and suppliers?

Sorry, I can't really. I don't work with electric systems at all, personally, so I'm not qualified to guide you there. We're wetheads through and through. I know, we'll have to get over that some day!
