Hello, I'm installing a Climatemaster Tranquility 27 5 ton unit  closed loop w/  two 500 ' wells with 11/2" pipe 50 miles north of NYC.

My question is:  What is the best way to utilize the desuperheater?  I have an existing 80
                          gal electric water heater.

1)  Place a smaller storage tank in series with existing water heater?

2)  Place a storage tank and install  a whole house on demand system?

3)  Use only my existing water tank?

Thank you for your information.

Place a large storage (at least 80 gal) tank in series with the existing water heater.

Thanks for the quick reply.  Does the storage tank need to be hooked up to electic, or just insulate the tank and hook it up in series to my electric 80 gal tank?

Thanks your info is really an asset to this forum!

The storage tank does not need to be hooked up to electric, just insulate the tank and hook it up in series to the electric 80 gal tank.

Good Luck

Probably an elementary point to make, but the preheat tank (the one plumbed to the desuperheater) is placed before or upstream the main tank.

Thank you for the information.  Does the concentric fitting go on the 1st storage tank or on the maintank hooked up to the electric?

If I understand correctly that the concentric fitting flow water to and from the desuperheater, it goes on the 1st storage tank, commonly referred to as a preheat tank
