Is any one else finding this site extremely slow at times?

On occasion,  I when I try and open a window,  I can open a window on another site and post before the window on this site has finished loading.

Same here, seems to be at higher traffic times? Not to knock this site, but I can imagine there are that many people trying to access it at once. I am assuming whatever server is hosting it is also hosting a bunch of other sites and between them all it can slow down. Late at night it seems to zip right along.

Even happens to me in the wee hours of the AM, when I would think most folks are counting sheep. BUT several theories come to mind

1. With all the job losses, folks are pounding the internet sidewalks round the clock

2. It's prime internet surfing time in China.

I just figured it was my backwoods dial up service (which by the way is one of the reasons I'm reluctant to open links you guys offer from time to time).
I've also had errors trying to log in now and again.

I have high speed internet service through cable.  I have noticed that this site is slower lately.  Maybe the administrator could tell us what is going on.

The whole internet system is fragile and vulnerable, I think. Last night all of a sudden Craigslist pages couldn't be found. Then this morning I had no internet service at all although the DSL modem showed I was connected to both Qwest and MSN, the ISP Qwest uses. Later, I couldn't even access my email at GoDaddy with my cell phone through AT&T even though I could connect to Google and Weather.com. Then about noon it broke free. Everything was back to normal with my cell phone access and this evening at home the internet is working just fine. A server farm somewhere must have crashed. Problems w/ GBT could easily be caused by some server farm half way around the world! Who knows where & what physical machines GBT actually resides on, except for GBT mgmt, and they probably won't tell us!
Even a retired engineer can build a house successfully w/ GBT help!

Our IT department is aware of these random slow moments. We will be migrating to new servers within the month which might make it faster. Thanks for your patience, and I'll update once the transition is complete.

Thanks,
Jamie

Which Internet browser are you using?  I've found that I've gotten long time delays if I use Firefox (which is my 'normal' browser) but, if I switch to Internet Explorer, the pages load quickly - I can open IE and have the new page load well before Firefox loads.
