Has anyone used this in their home construction?  We're doing an ICF home with a white metal roof (we're down in FL), and our builder is using Titanium UDL synthetic roofing underlayment.  I've read good things about it on the manufacturer's website, but what else would they say?  Was hoping for some real-world opinions.

Cheers!

Hi, Heather. I've not used it, but I noticed it on a stick built, spec home being constructed in my neighborhood. I asked the contractor about it.  He simply said he's using it b/c he's building in the winter. If it were summer, he'd be using std tar paper.
I can only assume it has some property he prefers over tar paper for this time of year.

I just PM'd you back with my e-mail address.

I did more research on the Florida Green Building Coalition standards for green construction, and an underlayment like this one (as opposed to felt) is actually recommended as part of the green home construction process.  Huzzah for our builder!

Thanks again!

I've worked with RoofTopGuard quite a bit. These types of underlayments are much more durable than tar paper.

The good thing about this underlayment, that we've realized as we got more into the construction process, was that the roof itself didn't hold up any of the interior work.  We have a metal roof, and we had to wait for a bit to get it, but the builder was able to do work on the interior while we waited, since this underlayment is fully waterproof.  The inside was protected, so, for example, he built our entertainment center and didn't have to worry about water seeping through the felt.

Cheers!
