Does anyone make an efficient and affordable PV shingle?  I am designing new construction and would like to incorporate PV singles into the plan.  Thanks from the swamp!

Most of the PV shingles I have found to date cost between 11 and 15 per watt installed.

Uni-Solar no longer makes shingles. I had incorporated them into my design for dream green home which I'm in the middle of building when I found out they are no longer made. This is unfortunate as my states solar incentives provided more for "building integrated" systems then regular solar panels. With the shingles you could kill two birds with one stone. Providing a roofing material and solar. This has changed my plans and budget dramatically. Instead I'm going with standing seam metal roofing with Uni-Solar PVL rolls.

I know this is an old post but.....

There is a great company "Open Energy" that makes BIPV products. I have personally installed 4 system with them so far. They look great. They have a partnership with Eagle Roofing. Your local roofing supply company can locate them.

Glass,

They make a mount for standing seam roofs. It allows you to install the standard rails and panels. It does this without any penetration of the metal.
