Gentlemen,
I believe some house cleaning is in order.
The posts by CAT51CF - Bob Duren are extremely offensive and have no place on this website.
I sent him a personal e-mail letting him know that I do not appreciate his style and that it's not acceptable. I sense that he got tanked and needed to vent.
I can't imagine that it's only my tender feelings that have been trashed.
If he can't clean it up, I would hope this group would request that Build Central kicks him out of the clubhouse.
Each of you need to send him a personal email and let him know that if he wants to play, there are rules.

Jim, and everyone else, out there. I was perfectly content to drop this, simply because it just wastes valuable time and could lead to another thread being dumped and flushed. This is always a shame! BUT since you started the thread and actually did harrass me(with innuendo)which is in violation of the rules. Here goes. First I would like to confirm I did recieve a private e-mail from Jim. The statements made in it bear very little resemblance to his latest public posting. Hmmm interesting!. The e-mail did not contain any statements accusing me of venting nor of being "tanked", which I guess means intoxication in some manner. Neither of which is true. If the "court" wishes to confirm this as fact, I can easily make copies of his e-mail available, with his permission of course. I personally don't see any reason too, I know the facts, I'm holding them in my hand. He did state he considered my post distasteful. I guess publically accusing a person whom you don't know of being a drunkard does not fit his definition of "distasteful". That again was my original point "stick to the facts". Since this assumption was for some reason left out of his private communique' it all seems just a little bit hypocritical to me. But that is one man's OPINION not fact. For those of you who couldn't manage to read between the lines of my previous post, the point was to stick to the facts and yes once again I have to repeat it. Uncontrolled backyard experiments are just that. The gentleman later added, that he did have siding included and some type of professional monitoring. The key word is later, "state the facts and also include them all". Seems like a lot of trouble when we can just take Marks advice and examine existing structures that have been up for ten years or more using some type of N.D.I. methodology. I already said this. I did agree that my comments might be construed as acerbic at best. And if that is the case I certainly publically apoligize for that. I clearly stated at least in one case that I was not trying to offend anyone and still am not. As far as being professional, well part of that includes being educated. Education levels in the construction industry, especially at the lower levels are woefully low. I'm sure that will ruffle some feathers, but do your own research or read the postings. As stated before I wasn't going to pursue all this, it's ludicrous at best, but I can't allow anyone to call me a "drunk" based on 0 facts and to take on a two-faced personification, one in public and one in private. Jim I don't know you, I have nothing against you or anyone else, again just stick to the facts. And unlike you, I will give up, when no good will prevail, and will instead use this time to ask a question to the forum about a real "scientific" test. The C.C.M.C. Tech Guide #03131. From what I hear the test were anonymous and voluntary even free of charge. I have tried in vain to find out if it is available and have had no luck. Anyone have info or know anything about this subject? I certainly hope this doesn't get me banned or cause the thread that Jim started to be locked. Anymore I just don't know, if so, so be it. Respectfully, Bob Duren

| Seems this type of situation has come up several times....perhaps someone should take the initiative this time to set a time and place for ICF'ers to get together at WOC and NAHB for some suds or such (milk and cookies for you Bob)and in the process possibly create some mutual understandings that no doubt would overshadow any "typewritten" misunderstandings and generate some kinder gentler relationships. |

Darn good idea, Ian. I have had reservations at one of the N.O. hotels for months now for one night. Unfortunatlely because of slipping construction schedules I may have to put a customers needs in front of fun, frolic, and salesman. Lost my current scheduled house to the war, he went to work, I lost the job. But if I am able to attend this year make mine chocolate and Oreo's respectively. Not to kibbutz but the Texas Ranch dressing you turned me on to at the I.B.S. has now become my favorite, wood bracing though still leaves me empty. Hope to see ya in some capacity. Do you have any info about the CCMC test or is it T.S., two manufacturers have brought it to my attention but no factual data, just rumors as usual. Bob Duren

Glad to see this get back to a positive level.
We'll be attending NAHB as we do every year. We set up and install the SIP demonstration houses and booths every year but we get around and see our freinds at TF Systems and pick up the lastest info for all of the other ICF's on display. We try and meet who's who in the ICF industry. Be glad to be invited to milk and cookies, beer and ribs or whiskey and fun to get to know you ICF folks better.
Doesn't the ICF industry have a national trade organization where everyone in the industry gets together on a yearly basis to promote and grow the industry ? I'd be interested in attending.

Just out of Curiosity, I wonder if the Canadian Construction Materials Center is what you are refering to Bob.
