It was interesting reading the couple of posts below on cedar or wood siding requiring furring strips. I have used hardplank screwed directly on the strips on my ICF houses with no problem. I pose the question though and I've also posted this to Hardiplank, does cement siding like Hardiplank require a furring strip with an airgap behind. I don't want call backs and of course I'm in western Oregon where the temperatures are a lot milder and may not need to go to this extreme. Has anyone else did Hardi siding on ICF's and how did they attach?

I have used HardiPlank on ICF's with no problems to date, including on my own home.
Both were installed directly onto the forms by nail guns, one with ring-shanked roofing nails and another with r/s siding nails.
The original installation was discussed with Hardi before we special ordered the roofing nails with special shanks.
There have been no problems with either.
