I am looking to upgrade to a upper and lower garage and will need to suspend a 24 x 30 garage floor. I am using a ICF foundation and am curious what to expect for costs in the just the suspended floor. What products do you recommend checking out?

I assume you are talking about a concrete suspended floor?

You will be able to easily use the insulated concrete joist system (such as PanelDeck and others) for a structural concrete slab spanning 24 feet.

Spans of 40+ feet at about $6.00 sq ft incl. labor. Reddi-Deck found at www.reddiform.com

EDIT ADDITION: This was simply a quick post to give the gentleman with a garage project a link to more information. I apologize for the lack of clarity and any misunderstandings.
The Reddi-Deck can span 40+ feet, and the $6.00 is a general rule of thumb estimate for projects of a size near what the original post requested information on.
We recently had a project that estimated out as follows:

Freight 1650.00
Reddi-Deck 16560.00
Steel 2668.00
Concrete 4355.00
Pump 450.00
Labor 2208.00

4416 sq ft project

$6.32 a sq ft

Freight is the big unknown and in this case was approx. $1000 more than usual due to more miles than usual and the fact that an additional full load charge on a 15% partial load impacted the overall sq ft cost. Thus the $.32 over the general rule of thumb of $6.00.
We were freighting the Reddi-Deck most of the way across the U.S. and still only added $.32 over our rule of thumb. I would guess that those of you in the midlands of the country should be able to beat our price quite easily. If you have projects yo would like us to bid, please contact us directly at one of the contacts listed below. Thanks.

Again, I hope this more detailed post clears up the confusion and I apologize for that.

Rick:

I sincerely hope that you are correct on this, as I currently have a project in your floor system will work perfectly on, and come in on the budget we are looking for. The building has 36' spans, three total spans, there are three full floors and one flat roof, Each floor is 15,245 square feet. The budget is $6.55 per square foot on the floor systems, complete with concrete. I will arrange flight and accomodations. Project is in Virginia. Can you do it for this? If so, we are in business, as I am running about $11.00 per square foot best case with insul deck.

Mark
Please forward plans for an estimate. We can certainly come in below the $11.00. The $6.55 may have to be re-evaluated by your budget people if they want an insultated concrete floor. I'm sure you already realize this as you note you are $4.55 a sq ft over the budget with your own costs. Look forward to receiving the plans and saving you some of that $4.55. Perhaps the budget can absorb our bid.
Regards, Rick Hansen

Isn't Reddi-Deck and Insul-Deck the same thing? They have identical cross-sections. Thought they might buy from the same European manufacturer.

Based on the costs I've been quoted from Insul-Deck and Lite-Deck, $11/sq ft seems really high.

Reddi-Deck, InsulDeck and PanelDeck are all the same product manufactured by Insul Deck in Florence, Kentucky. It is up to the individual companies to provide technical support, which is the only difference among them. The high installed cost comes from the extensive shoring and a little bit of engineering that is required to get it in place.
