Believe it or not, Dave, Canadian I may be, but I grew up dealing in the US imperial system, and I generally deal in the U.S. $$$$ everyday. I like it. It has....VALUE

...They say a picture is worth a thousand words... Well a funny thing happened after a pour I did in Ohio monday. Please forgive the shameless plug- After emptying truck #7 into the Amvic wall's, I reached down and plugged in the wiggly stick (vibrator)and the sound of the "ooh's and Aahh's" was enough to make me look up. There was approx. 12-15 contractors and wholesalers assembled that had come to check this out. The Ohio dist. was very busy chating & answering questions. Anyhow, I'm walking by the garbage bin and I couldn't help but see this darn I_E block sticking out of the box. It seems there is another convert in Ohio. I just had to laugh and take a picture. Sorry, but I had to share this. P.S. I also noticed they enjoy the Canadian by molsen, and its even labeled down there to boot. Take-care all,Sincerely. C.Kerr P.s.s. Where the heck is Linda Loma anyhow? |

Shameless Plug"Formtech"I am not "Reward"going there"Formtech". Anyhow, its good "Reward" to see that everyone. "Formtech" is trying very hard "Reward" to support the "Formtech"industry.

Oh, I am sure that your Amvic block works very well, and I am sure glad you took a picture of I_E in the box on a shelf....
I_E has been around these parts for years, long before you were working here in the states (sure hope you have a work VISA) with Amvic.
And I am sure that your "converts" are very happy with the products. I ve seen and heard nothing but rave reviews....
But remember one thing, and I think this is a valid point, someone in this industry has worked very hard to produce a product and sell it to folks who use it without fail, both in the DIY market and the professional market, for many, many years.......
Long before Amvic, it was GreenBlock, then before that, it was AAB, then it was BlueMaxx, then it was ARXX, and Integraspec, and Standard, and and on and on and on and on.......
Each one before you got the same tickle you did by the "converts" as you call them.... Nothing new under the sun......Just a different day, with a little different twist.
So glad your project was a success, and I am glad your home safe and sound (shots or no shots) but just remember one thing eh?
Your not going to be the latest and greatest for long, and if your not careful, your Amvic line could be setting on a shelf in a box when the next guy brings out the latest and greatest......
( it's Loma Linda not Linda Loma) Again, hope ya didn't get any on ya....

Yes Sir, I do agree with you. I know of no other industry where the innovations and advancements have taken place at such a rapid pace as it has with I.C.F.'s. For sure, there will something "new" just around the corner. No disrespect intended to any manufacturer, as I do understand the hardships involved with bringing a product to the marketplace. Take-care, Sincerely.C.Kerr |

jdintexas,
When you get your new home built will you still be hanging around with the guys in the ICFWEB talk forum? Your memory must be slippin on ya from the heat there in Texas. Had a quick chance to review my posts from a a year or so ago, isn't Ian building your ICF packaged home shell? He's your buddie, right?
Anger/Hate, uh, I don't think so...Mold Haven, yes there are homes that are built so tight that they are mold havens, and not just constructed out of foam and concrete.....
Let what go?
And for moving on? I've been moving on for a while! As they say in the world of concrete, concrete shrinks and for those who work it, they will eventually shrink too, and they do!
Isn't your new ICF house done yet?
As moska says it best, you go girl and keep on keepin on down there in that there place they call Texas.....Ya'all come back now, ya hear?
How many Aggies does it take to win an election? Last time they counted 412..... If you got that there sweetie in the State House and your kin folk in the Govenors Mansion, it don't even take that many....Ya' all come back now ya hear.....Let it go girl, let it go.........

| Dave: There are two kinds of people in this world.....Aggies and those that wish they were....You probably wish a lot of things too! I doubt you know enough about Texas A&M University to provide an accurate stereotype...Lest we forget that Kent State is in Ohio. Wasn't that about draft dodging or something? I would hazard to guess that in nearly every industry you can find a leader that is an Aggie....including the ICF industry, how about 'them Buckeyes? (I await your response with zeal since I know you will approach it the same as you approach most other replies...."The cup is half EMPTY!) I won't be able to play the game though....too busy stacking blocks to just talk about it. Ian class of '85 |

Ian: Kent State is in Ohio, and proud of it. Know more about Texas A&M than maybe you think I do....Not the point! Game? Well, if you say so? I must have hit a nerve, just like all those Aggies, they do take there bondfire building seriously, or do they?

| Dave: Obviously you have proven my point exactly....You don't know much about Aggies, can't hit a nerve in an alumnus of A&M....Best source for books of Aggie jokes etc. is from the school itself! We can laugh at ourselves and admit wrong if a mistake was made....not sure about those from Ohio |

| Guess ICFDESIGN never put in airexchangers in those "tightly constructed" ICF homes...too bad...you have so much to learn about the industry..and yes i will still be "hanging" around and i talk about ICFS all the time to everyone as i do BELIEVE it is the wave of the future in homebuilding..and am born and raised in Texas pookies..graduated from Permian High School in Odessa Texas..OIL baby...OIL..and YES IAN will be building my home and haven't started yet..because (Altho it isn't any of your biz..)i will when i have everything ready to go..obviously you aren't making any money in the construction business or you wouldn't have so much time to be on here...you go IAN "STACK THOSE BLOCKS" work it..work it..make that money...Yea TEXAS!!!! |
