Good-day to All, Hope that all is well.
I have recognized a hitch in the "SALES TO INSTALATION" loop. The NEW found popularity in
our ever growing industry has resulted in sales
to "FRESH I.C.F.'ers". And I'm now asking all
for their veiws on the next big question- ALL
THINGS CONSIDERED, WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE SYSTEM AVAILABLE? I have just spent $15,000
on rentals to accomodate the need. Any kind
of input is welcome. Thank's All,Take-care.
Sincerely, C.Kerr.

Hey Chris, now for a shameless plug! We manufacture our own alignment system amde out of lightweight and durable ALUMINUM! Right down the road from you! Resistant to Muskoka mosquitoes and other critters. Lighweight, easy to handle, easy to CLEAN. Probably a bit more pricey than the steel alignment systems you can buy, but they are far superior, and they LOOK GOOD on a jobsite. Come for a visit, Chris, and check it out!

Ciao

Chris, I've seen really inexpensive alignment systems out there, some home-made, that do the job very well, but you know, compare apples to apples......You have to play with a set to realize how much nicer the aluminum ones are. E-mail a fax number and I'll ssend some info.

Just a quick word on scaffolding/alignment systems. Please make sure if your re-selling the buid it yourself style in the USA that you have all the engineering to go with it. This is only to protect the integrity of the systems that some businesses have invested tens if not hundreds of thousands of dollars in. Its one thing to build your own and use it, but another animal to build and re-sell it. Not looking for contoversy here, just wanted to clerify for those who might not have a clue of what the "issues of liabilities" are when re-selling such a product.
Testing, compliance issues, and on and on.
I've seen many different styles all over the place, but I would offer a bit of caution. Just an opinion guys...

Yes, I forgot to ask you what type of alignment/bracing system do you use, if you do? Thanks. C.Kerr

We have been working on a means to try to address this issue, and I think we came up with one. After reviewing the saftey requirements and design codes in the USA and Canada, we have developed an economical means to the end of bracing for one timers or new users.

We simply provide the small hardware items including turnbuckles to the customer, which can be shipped with very little cost, they pay a much reduced fee to complete thier job which covers the cost of the units, and they send the units back to us, at which time they get reimbursed for the units. Its working very well, and the design meets all the codes and concerns for both contries.

This need has been a concern for many, as there are a very few unused and open sets out in the industry, for use by DIY's. I would recommend other companies to follow suit, to make more and varied type systems available.

Mark,
Having a bracing & alignment system complete with a walk-on scaffolding system is an investment in the business. I would say that an inexpensive system is great news for an industry plagued with crooked walls and un-safe working conditions. Best of Luck with your system.

Thanks Dave, its not pretty, but it does work, and solves the DIY problems, however, proffesional bracing systems have a very valid place with contractors and developers, I own several professional sets, and know the benifits.

Best of luck

Having a low cost alignment system as Mark suggest, should fit well. I had to pull my system off a DIY's clients of mine on 2 different occasions. Just because of a red tape loving inspector. Just reciently a saw another DIY'S project in my travels. It looked like a 3ed world country project. A coventional builder would just laugh at such a site. And say I never will do one of them icf things!!.

And Shamless Rick send me some info. on your lightwieght system. esh@pathwaynet.com
