What is the best way to hold the correct wall height for the second pour on a ranch house. The bsmt is done and the deck is on. The first floor will have 9 foot ceilings (104 5/8" studs). I would like to rip the last (top) block such that it is a bit over (1/4" or so) the desired hgt. I dont want to end up at 104 1/2" or I'll have to cut 1/8" or so off all of the studs! This will be a seven block pour. I am estimating about 3/16" of compression (amvic forms).
Thanks.......Larry

Here's an option for ya...
Do you have access to a laser? You can make a laser screed. Cut the forms off as you intend, then use the laser for the exact grade once concrete has been placed....You must move fast to get decent results though.

Larry:

If your main floor is framed, simply cut a 2x4 to the correct height you wish, and use it by standing it on the floor box, and leveling the top of the concrete wall to the appropriate height which would be the top of the 2x4. This should ensure that your wall is the same height off the floor all the way around your building, at minimal cost.
