What is the status of AC Tech Panel from Bolivar TN? I can no longer get their web site to come up. I know business is slow now. I wonder if they are still in business. They have a great product that is easy to use. I look forward to using their product again.
Has anyone heard anything lately about this company? |

Yes, I have the same problem. My company is a certified dealer and we can't get into the website. I use a lot of resources and info from their site. Looks like I am going to have to make some calls on Monday. Hey thanks for posting this ... I'll keep you updated if I hear anything.

Chris,
I also know Tony, and know the status of the situation. I noticed in an earlier thread, maybe a year or two ago that you did not care much for steel SIPs. Well, my thing is I believe steel SIPs are stronger in wind and Ac Techs were the top ones that I found. Will the other style of Sips stand strong in storms such as in the Caribbean or South Florida for that matter. Also with your expertise in these types of building products, is energy efficiency, mold reduction, termite reduction, and fire ratings similar in most SIP products such as steel, cement board, wood etc.? Thank you. |

Thank you. Canes; you have me confused with someone else....I LOVE steel SIPs, it is all that we do, we turn away conventional construction. You will most likely need to find another supplier unless someone buys out ACTech Our panels are already being used in the Carribean, it doesn't mater where the location a Cat 5 is a Cat 5, whether its in Florida or the Grand Caymans I prefer steel for its resistance to termites and mold, plus a multitude of other reasons. I have built with the others they all have merits, my personal choice is steel

| Thanks for the quick response. I must have gotten you confused with someone else then. You do build with Steel SIPs? That is good news. Do you have your own materials or do you build with a panels from a seperate manufacturer? |

Canes;
we use the shadowline panel, supplied thru Sip Supply, Inc. - Tarpon Springs, FL. 727-243-2717
the advantage of this panel is there is no seam fastemers required... unlike actechs, that need stitch screwed |

Canes,
Kavala bashes EVERY SIP panel, including steel SIP panels, if they are not the one he sells, when I decided to build with Steel SIP I used ACTech Panels because they were the BEST steel SIP for my project, but they weren't the kind that Kavala sells, so the threads you read a year or two ago were probably his response to my comments about the ACTech panels I used. Before I could even get this letter posted, I noticed Kavala is already berating those stitch screws used with the ACTech panel, AGAIN! Those stitch screws in my ACTech panels don't bother me at all, in fact they give me a safe, warm, and secure feeling.

So Mr. Kavala likes the shadowline panel. Seaglade likes the AcTech panel. I must admit, the panel I had the most info on and was my personnal favorite was the AcTech panel. I did not come across the shadowline panel however when was looking around. What is the main difference in the 2 panels (AcTech and Shadowline), and also the Steelsip company out of Plant City? How do they compare to the shadowline or AcTech Panels?
Thanks again guys, this is good stuff here. Appreciate the knowledge you guys are bringing to the table. |

Seaglade; I don't bash every panel please see the 5 th. previous post where I said :
"I prefer steel for its resistance to termites and mold, plus a multitude of other reasons. I have built with the others they all have merits, my personal choice is steel"
"The others" meaning steel, aluminum, fibercement and OSB
You do not know anything about my panel to make a fair comparison or a fair comment.
I was not berating the stitch screws, I was mearly pointing out it was not nececcary engineeringwise for our panel to be attached at the seams. It is a great time saver. One could stitch them, but it is not required.
Glad your feeling warm and fuzzy with those additional screws, I would be feeling a little sick knowing - There is no enforceable warranty on those panels anymore.

Canes;
The "shadowline " is a private labeled made for us thru www.SipSupplyInc.com
The main differences are Actech is a 3" roof and wall panel 24" wide PU core, G-90 skin
Shadowline is a 4/6/8/10/12" wall/roof panel 45-1/2" wide with an EPS "performguard" core, galvalume skin
Not sure about a Plant City company?, there is one in Lakeland, if that the one, they have "without authorization" used my job photos, used my projects as models and pasing them off as their own jobs. But, that is not the first time , there is also a builder in Tampa and one in Mississippi doing the same thing, I think it speaks volumes to their integrity.
