Is it possible with SIPS to create a large radius curve of say 80-100'? Specifically I am trying to build an arts and crafts style carriage house that has a very slight curve in the roof line:

Guy B;

we have been able to get about 1/4" per foot bend on a 24ft. long steel panel, you should be able to do the same with OSB, but it is not enough to get the desired look on you photo.

I was involved with a mfg. where we built a custom form for metal panels in about a 12ft radius. laminated in a custom vacuum bag. Problem is you could only build one every hour

Take a look at this video of Bill Chaleff's house.

Roof panels are curved SIPs

Look at nailable insulation. Its like a OSB SIP without the bottom skin and it has a ventilated top skin. This would be an easier panel to bend because it has no bottom skin to go into compression.

We can provide Closed Cell Polyurethane Radius SIPS panels .
The most recent job we just shipped was a 3'6" radius with 7 windows.
You can see photos on our website. www.Earthcoresips.com
As far as I know, we are the only manufacture in the industry that can make these panels.

In terms of what we are capable of,our press is flexible from 3'6" to an 80 foot radius.

Let me know if I can provide any additional information or pricing.

Greetings from Fort Collins, Colorado. We have manufactured radius SIPs for a few years. The most recent was for a commercial building with a 50-foot radius roof. We would be happy to work with you. [email protected] www.ICS-RM.com
