Does anyone here know about or have experience with Z-mesh radiant? My designer said that on a two story off grid 1500 square foot house the system would work. One 30 amp breaker was all I needed, he claimed.
I called the company and they ran the numbers and also decided that a solar power setup would be okay with one 30 amp breaker dedicated to the Z mesh low voltage system.
Even assuming that they are right and I can use this with solar, I wonder what happens when you turn a plywood floor into a kind of electric blanket.
WHich reminds me, I've been meaning to check into formaldehyde free plywood. Anyone know anything about that? Cost, where to buy etc. I'm in Southern California.
Thanks for any info.

Well I guess its going to depend on what your actual load is. Typically, I'd say they were on crack, but you are in southern California so I'm guessing a very little heat loss?

I can't say for sure, but one 30 amp breaker may not be enough for the area you are covering (1500 square feet). I have installed the Zmesh system before I found it to work very well on a wood sub-floor. I called around and found Warmzone.com was the best to work with. There support was insightful and they answered all of my questions at the time. The home owner loved the system and found it provided just enough heat to make the floor and living areas extremely comfortable. Call warmzone to get your answers on amperage, watts per square foot (measurement of heat in the electric radiant industry) and of course cost! Good luck.
