I have no experience with radiant and am wondering how important floor sensors are to my particular setup?
- This is new construction in SF Bay Area.
- 3 floors including basement
- Basement and main floor have gypcrete slab, 2nd floor has tubing in plywood
- Well insulated
- 13 zones total
- HTP Phoenix with outside reset
The current plan is to use 13 thermostats, which will be 5' off the floor, without using any floor sensors.
Sheetrock is up, so getting a bit late to change this plan, but wondering if I'm going to regret not having the floor sensor. Or is it the case that in this relatively moderate climate and with the use of outdoor reset, that floor sensors aren't really needed to avoid over and under shoot?
The designer/installer is not concerned and this is how they do it here, but wanted to get any other feedback before it's too late.
Thanks for any input you might have..
