We're solely on well water for domestic use. For out geothermal system, would like to use vertical loops, but wondering if these 4 to 5 holes could lead to salt water infiltrating the "potable" aquifer. Our water well goes down 80ft and the vertical loops would pass through this aquifier to 150 to 200 ft. Most wells in this part of KS don't go beyond 80ft to avoid hitting salty aquifers (there's a layer of salt that runs from Missouri to New Mexico). Is the grouting process sufficient to prevent water traveling from one layer to another?? Other concerns we should address??

If the hole is properly grouted, you should not have a problem.

If you use EarthLInked DX, the deepest your geo wells need to be is 95'. You may even be able to use a diagonal drilled loop, which then goes even shallower.
And geodean's right. Drillers should already be sure to grout the hole properly to seal it.
