are there specific situations (ie high water table , bed rock ) that make the additional cost of grout 111 worth it. or is it always worth it. We charge an additional 1k for it on a traditional job and i want to know is it always in the cust best interest

as a comp. we have 4 jobs under our belt and all have gone with it . advanced geothermal recomends it for its heat transfer rate but say sand or rock free soil can be used for less money. I just dont want to lose a sale over the money and if that cost can be cut safely in cetain situations i would like to know

In Utah it is against the law to not use a bentonite grout in a geothermal well

In Utah, we can use grout 111, but we prefer not to. It's a pain to deal with, and we can get great thermal efficiencies out of thermally enhanced bentonite grout mixes. Grout 111 is a good grout, but I feel duped when someone specs that anything else doesn't work.
