Since we know that BP has the abiltiy to drill very deep and link wells together I think I will ask this company to drill two wells for me and connect the two at the bottom. If they do not hit an oil gusher, then I plan to install one pipe in one well and then bring it back to the surface about 18' away up through the other well. I think this will eliminate short circuiting between the in and out water lines. This new method should increase operating efficiency of the geo unit tremendously and also allow BP to redeem itself.

Serious question now:  How much more efficient would separate in and out wells be over using one well?  Since this has probably not been done in wells I wonder if anyone has used separate trenches for the in and out geo water lines and if so was it more efficient?

By the way, I would hate to be the new PR guy BP is trying to hire now.

I recently had a open loop customer insist on insulating the incoming water line due to the fact that we buried the return well line in the same trench enroute to the return wells location. I had some service contact with him last week and the ewt and lwt were the same as if no insulation.
As far as the linking of two seperate bores, I am sure it is possible, but $$$$$$$$$$$
