I am aiming ultimateley for net zero on my electric bill.  Step one was to reduce the laod as much as possible with out affecting life style.  Removing my 30 gallon electric heater and replacing it with a tankless propane unit has made on average a 10kwh a day differance.  Messing around with run time settings on thermostats has yeilded some reduction also.  To date the leaky old farmhouse with temp downstairs at 67 and upstairs at 70 the house consumed only 1,256 kwh from May 6 to June 6.  To a lot of you with better envelopes it is not much, but to the old farm house that is huge considering we are in drought and the fifty year heat wave.  Total energy consumption of the house for that period wa only 165.00
