To that, I respectfully disagree. An independent auto repair shop that uses Ford Parts will not show up on the Ford website, particularly as Ford's highest level of dealer.

It's unlikely that the independent auto repair shop would be able to use the Ford logo in advertising.

Companies that don't choose their authorized dealers responsibly should have their feet held to the fire for the poor performance (and in the case of WaterFurnace in new construction, planning) of their dealers.

You're obviously here because you care about the products and technology, and want to see things done professional. You people are craftsman. Don't you think want the company to recognize that over how many units someone sells?

Lev, again I'm not busting your chops here but offering detached perspective.

I would liken the ducts to the road my new truck drives down, if it is bumpy, do I blame ford?
The car dealer is offered many times as an example, the major flaw is car dealers are franchises completely under the thumb of the manufacturer. Further the logical extrapolation of your argument would be every furnace A/C or heat pump manufacturer would be responsible for the ducts their equipment is attached to.
HVAC contractors are licensed by the state for things like duct work design. Why do we not blame the state for bad ducts?

Changing a filter drier whenever you open a refrigeration system is standard practice, yet you do not blame your repair man for not doing that with the first TXV.

You are mixing some emotion with your reason, and perhaps the lack of inflection in written word has me bringing that out in you. It is not intentional, but if you read your body of work so far you have complete faith in a dealer who does not follow protocol when servicing your equipment (is he a geo pro as well) and you are blaming a manufacturer for failing to fix "the problem". You assume geo-pro somehow has something to do with duct design though geo design and duct design are 2 different crafts entirely; often with 2 different licenses/certifications.

Scattered thoughts, ideas and complaints are unhelpful in both trouble shooting and litigation. I agree that WF elevates their exposure to complaints with their distribution and referral practices, but if all you ultimately want is the unit to work then you are going about this in the wrong way.

I'll turn the Q&A back over to you, if you have a problem in any new product that a tech can't seem to fix, wouldn't you get a new tech? If that tech can't figure it out why stay with him? If you were paying the current tech labor, would you stay with him?

It has been my experience that if I need more than a value (say thermistor mfs) from tech support I'm in trouble, they will simply read me down the troubleshooting list that is already in my posession.

In 23 years I've had to have few manufacturer reps to sites me or my guys were on. All but a couple were followed by a slap on the forehead as they were simple problems that would have easily been resolved if my guys or I had followed protocol.....my biggest mistake was taking my guy's word for it vs looking myself.
