Quick info. 6 Ton Waterfurnace Envision, Waterfurnace thermostat.  All indicators working well. Outside Temperature 10F. Thermostat set at 69F. Worked through 67F at Stage2, 68F at Stage 2, 69F at Stage 1. It took five hours to do its run time.
Is there anything amiss? Is there a minimum/maximum run time?

I don't know what is refered to by "do it's run time".
Design dictates pct of the hour a system will run. In my AO winter lows are 1-6F depending on whether home is closer to Detroit or Lansing. Therefore balance points would be in the teens (point at which auxiliary heat must contribute) and run times would be about 100%/hour. In fact they might hit 100%/hour in the high 20's or low 30's (though rarely leaving 1st stage).

Now system should be cycling between first second and third stages for best efficiency. If you were running on aux. the whole time there is a problem.

Next you may want to ask installer for a bin analysis of your design. This report will show hourly run times based on ambient temps.

I mean when the furnace clicks in and the time it stops.

Nothing sounds amiss for 10*F outside.

Why was temp 2 degrees below set point? Are you setting back temp at night? I just leave my stat at 68*.

Longer run times are often better, sounds like its sized and working well as long as your loop EWT's are staying up.
